My dog has bloody discharge and reduced appetite. What's wrong?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Discharge is not a side effect of the medications. If your dog has not been spayed, I would take her to a vet immediately. It sounds like she may have an infection in her uterus and needs emergency surgery. It does sound like she may have a flea allergy but I think the vomiting and discharge are unrelated. Poor Noika! Since she is so young and not eating I would take her in to your vet. My concern would be that she might quickly get dehydrated. Bloody discharge could be a signal infection or if it is coming from her anus then it could be a serious viral infection, intestinal parasites, or bacteria infection. I'm sorry - I wish there were some good home remedies for her. Since we don't know the cause and she is so little, I would prefer to be extra cautious than wait and see.

Hello, sorry to hear about Oscar. He could have an infection of his prepuce or penis. Additionally, he could have a UTI or urinary stones. Ideally, he should be examined by his veterinarian so that they can evaluate his penis, prepuce and look for evidence of stones or a UTI. Look for straining to urinate, persistent blood in urine, and leaking urine. If you note any of these, then have Oscar evaluated sooner. Hope this helps and best of luck.

I would ask for full blood work, urinalysis, and belly X-rays. Maybe collect a urine sample to bring with you. I would consider also checking his clotting times. He could have a UTI, bladder stones, crystals in his urine, immune mediate destruction of his red blood cells or platelets. I would also be sure they extrude his penis from the prepuce to evaluate the penis itself. I hope this helps and I wish Jude the very best!

Poor giril. This looks like dark serosanguinous fluid, which could indicate an infection of her uterus. This often occurs post-labor or post-menstrual cycle. I would highly recommend taking Willow to your local vet to have her blood tested and vitals checked (temperature especially) to make sure she is ok. Often-times if there is an infection of the uterus (pyometra), the pet will have a fever, decreased appetite, sometimes vomiting and loose stool. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I noticed in one of those pictures that his stool is really diarrhea and is black (which usually means a sign of bleeding). Vomiting and diarrhea can occur secondary to conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, dietary indiscretion, parasites, among other possibilities. In addition, black stools can be indicative of bleeding into the small intestine or stomach which can happen secondary to an ulcer for instance. Bloody urine can be the result of an infection, stones, tumors, among other possibilities. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. At the very least they can start him on medications to make him feel better and check his hydration status. In the meantime, keep water available at all times to try to prevent dehydration. Oh no. I would take him to a vet as soon as possible and have him checked for intestinal parasites and parvovirus. Either one could be the cause of his bloody discharge and need to be identified quickly so that he can start treatment right away. Howver, you can offer Pedialyte non-flavored to help keep him from getting too dehydrated. It is unfortunate that a pet you just adopted is ill; however, you can't help Shiner on your own and you should allow your veterinarian to care for him and his illness from here moving forward.
