My poodle's head cyst is bleeding. What can I put on it safely?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Poodle | Female | spayed | 9 years and 5 months old

Mini-poodle has had sebacious cyst on top of head for 6 mo. and it is now bleeding a little. Should I put anything (like warm wash cloth) on her head?

you can put some antiseptic or antibiotic cream on it, if she is scratching it it would also be a god idea to put an e-collar around her neck to prevent her from doing any more damage. If the bleeding carries on, the cyst will need to be removed surgically.
