My dog's cyst is bleeding after scratching. Vets closed, what to do?

you can put some antiseptic or antibiotic cream on it, if she is scratching it it would also be a god idea to put an e-collar around her neck to prevent her from doing any more damage. If the bleeding carries on, the cyst will need to be removed surgically.

If the vet is at all worried about how it looks, they will recommend a biopsy. The problem with cysts is that they can get bigger, then pop, and refill again. This should be drained sterilely, and the cyst may need to be removed surgically to prevent it from reoccurring. Do not try to pop it yourself, as that will introduce infection into the area. I would have Jim seen by a vet today if the vet is open for normal business hours, or on Monday to have the cyst drained. The vet can decide if it needs to be removed surgically.

I recommend having Roscoe seen by a Vet, as cysts can become infected when they rupture, and Roscoe may need a course of antibiotics. Your vet can then let you know if they have any concerns about the lesion when they’re able to examine it. Hi, it looks like a cyst and it should heal on its own if the area is cleaned andhai around it clipped. I would also make sure that Ossi is comfortable as the skin looks extremley red. If with clipping and cleaning things do not seem to improve, Olli might need stronger medications. Hope this helps.

I would apply gentle pressure to the bump to stop the bleeding. Do not wipe the blood away from the bump as that disrupts the clotting process. Continue to apply pressure until the bleeding stops. I hope this helps.
