Dog ate underwear, passed it. Why is he still lazy and not pooping?

He may be trying to pass them. The best thing to do it feed him canned pumpkin or green beans to help him go to the bathroom. You can take him to the vet for a rectal exam to see if they can assist in getting it out. If you ntoice any vomiting or anorexia then he maybe obstructed and need to be seen

Hello. If she is eating, drinking & still passing stools, then she may not need surgery. You definitely want to increase her intake of fluids. Supply low sodium broths or stocks for her to drink in addition to her fresh water. Switch to a wet diet & add a moderate amount of additional liquid to this, but not too much. You do not want to dilute the nutritional density of her food too much. Take 2 slices of bread & slather each piece with a layer of Vaseline & try to get her to eat this a piece at a time. If you can get one slice in her now, you can do the second piece later on or this evening. Hopefully this will lubricate her gut & push the rest of the material out of her. But if she stops eating & vomits everything, becomes bloated or shows abdominal pain, you will need to make a decision about her care. Poor guy. I can understand how worrisome this can be, especially when you are dealing with a foreign body ingestion, not knowing if it will pass or not. Hopefully the cloth was small and will pass through easily, which can take several days to a week in some cases. If he has vomited more than 3 times, then I would highly recommend taking him in to your vet for a proper exam and radiographs to check where the cloth is and see if it is already causing a blockage. Blockages will cause excessive vomiting (even water), lethargy and scant (few) feces. I do hope that he doesn't have a complete blockage, but he needs to be seen by your vet to determine if that is the case or not. At the very least the vet can prescribe antinausea medication to help control his vomiting and subsequently prevent him from becoming dehydrated as well. Best of luck to you and your pet Lucky. If he does not show signs of vomiting or abdominal pain and if he has normal appetite and he is passing normal stools you should monitor him at home. The signs of a foreign body / obstruction in the small intestine include vomiting, abdominal pain, lack of appetite, not passing stools at all. If you see any of these signs, you need to take Gianny to your vets right away.

Oh no, that was naughty of Benji to eat the thong! It's good that he's acting normally, as well as pooping and eating. It can take time for the underwear to pass, but if it still hasn't passed by Monday, I would take him into the vet for an x-ray to see if the thong can be visualized in the intestine. If he stops eating, stops pooping, has diarrhea, starts vomiting, or becomes very lethargic, then rush him into a vet immediately. I hope this helps!

Mischievous Atticus! The size of the piece of blanket is not very large so hopefully none of it has become lodged anywhere in the GI tract. With any luck, he is just feeling out of sorts from the gastrointestinal upset he has caused himself to have. If you do decide to take him to the vet, regular x-rays will not say with certainly whether or not there is a partial obstruction because cloth material cannot be differentiated. Contrast material like barium is needed to do this, which is a liquid that travels through the GI tract over the course of several hours. X-rays are taken numerous times over the course of this time to see if the barium is traveling in a normal or abnormal fashion. Since he has been passing portions of it already, I am really not very worried about it. He however might really benefit from an anti-nausea and anti-diarrheal medication. While there are over the counter options, something like Cerenia which can only be obtained via prescription would be a great choice in this instance. There are also several over the counter anti diarrheals available. If the vomiting and lethargy does continue to persist for another day or so, I would say to bite the bullet and bring him in for an exam. Hope this makes sense.
