My dog ate my turmeric supplement with black pepper. Will he be okay?

Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I would not be too worried about this. The most that would happen would be that Nudge would get an upset stomach. An upset stomach can lead to diarrhea and vomiting which are usually self-limiting (meaning they will resolve on their own within 12-36 hours). If she begins showing any signs of an upset stomach that don't resolve in that time period then you should take her to your vet for treatment. Capsicum (cayenne) is not toxic to dogs. No this should not be toxic to the point of life-threatening illness if a little is swallowed. At most, you may see some stomach upset (vomiting, diarrhea) in which case a bland diet of boiled plain chicken OR lean ground turkey and rice can be given to help settle the stomach. Otherwise, Sooky should be fine moving forward. Take care : )

Hi, and thanks for your question. From your description I think this vomiting episode is likely to be related to the turmeric paste, which I would recommend to stop. As a first approach, I would suggest as well to withhold food for the next 8-12 hours and then start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice diarrhoea, more vomiting, lethargy or inappetence. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! A therapeutic one time dose of Advil liquid gel 200mg is ONE tablet for a 60 lb dog. If he only ingested one then he will be fine. If he got a hold of 2 then you MIGHT have some GI effects like poor appetite, vomiting and stomach lining irritation but that is usually seen when they get in to much more (>25mg/kg so 3.5 capsules). Cooper is likely to be fine. If you notice anything he should see your Vet. I wish you the best!
