My puppy ate soap, vomited, and had loose stool. Is it a blockage?

Hello. I honestly would not rush her into an emergency clinic based on one episode of vomiting. Eating well & having normal & regular bowel movements are definitely a sign of a healthy GI tract. A blockage would make her very sick. If she continues to vomit, quits eating, develops any diarrhea, then see your veterinarian, but there is no way 1/6 of a paper towel, even in a small dog, would cause a blockage. It is very possible, and I would be worried if he's now having vomiting and diarrhea, as that may indicate a partial blockage (where some but not all stool is able to properly pass). If his symptoms continue, or none of the pee pad is passing, I would schedule a vet visit immediately to check for foreign body.

If the vomiting continues than he could have a blockage. If he is otherwise acting ok than you could withhold food for the day and then try a bland diet of boil chicken and white rice. If the vomiting resolves, continue feeding the bland diet for a few days and then gradually switch back to his regular food. If the vomiting and diarrhea continues then he needs to be examined by a veterinarian to determine the cause. Your veterinarian can take an x-ray to help diagnose and then determine the best way to treat his problem.

Sadly it is very possible that Onyx has a partial obstruction in the upper GI tract from swallowing the soft toy. I am glad that he is acting normally, but the vomiting after eating is very concerning. I recommend having him examined by a veterinarian and likely having x-rays taken to look for signs of an obstruction in the GI tract. The sooner, the better, to prevent possible damage to the GI tract, dehydration or more serious complications. Onyx may need surgery or a scoping procedure to remove an obstruction.

Most human viruses cannot infect dogs, so that isn't a concern. Eating dish soap can cause upset stomach (vomiting or diarrhea) but it shouldn't last more than 24 hours. If you notice vomiting or diarrhea that last longer than 24 hours, I would have Snowball examined by a vet.

Hello. There should be no problems from eating the poop, but there is always a small chance that the diaper may cause a blockage. You just want to be aware if Chewy shows any signs of lethargy, loss of appetite, vomiting, bloating or pain of any kind. If he continues to eat normally & have regular bowel movements over the next 72 hours or so, then he will be fine. Just watch for any signs of anything unusual. I'm quite concerned that if Vinny has a habit of eating things he should not, if he did eat this toy, it's causing a blockage in his intestines. That would cause him to vomit, not eat, and not be able to poop. If he does have an intestinal blockage, that is a medical emergency as it is fatal without treatment. I cannot say he will be ok without seeing him in person, so the best thing for you to do is take him into a vet immediately to get checked out and have x-rays done. Please take him into a vet now.
