My dog ate a semi-sweet chocolate chip cookie. Will he be okay?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 4 years and 5 months old | 55 lbs

My dog ate a chocolate chip medium sized cookie with some semi sweet chocolate chips in it. He’s acting fine as of now it’s currently been 10 minutes.

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Pete. I see he's a good sized dog at 55lbs, so chances are eating this cookie is not going to cause him any problems. At most, you may see some GI upset, but I wouldn't be surprised if you don't see anything at all. It can take up to 24 hours for signs of chocolate toxicity to occur, so monitor him over this time period. Do not let him get ahold of any more cookies! I hope this helps!
