My dog ate a few small chocolate Easter candies. Is he okay?

Well that wasn't good of Winston to eat that Hershey's kiss! The good news is that one is not likely to cause any problems. It's very small and doesn't contain enough chocolate to cause any toxic symptoms. He should be fine, so I wouldn't do anything for him except monitor him to be safe. While dark chocolate and bakers chocolate will be the most toxic, milk chocolate can cause problems for a dog as well. Even if he is not given enough to cause toxicity, he can experience gastrointestinal upset from it. So it is best to avoid all together. I hope this information helps!

There is very little cocoa in these eggs, so a dog Coco's size will most likely be fine. You can watch for any signs of GI upset (vomiting, diarrhea) that can come anytime a dog gets into something they're not used to eating. If you're concerned, you can reach out to your vet and they can help give Coco a medication to make her vomit and get the chocolate out of her stomach, to minimize the risk of later developing GI symptoms.
