My dog ate a poppy seed muffin. Is it safe? What should I do?

My 13lb dog ate half a Minnie muffin with poppy seeds. What should I do? Should I be concerned?

Hi there! I really think Winnie will be fine. Usually, if we see anything at all, it is if there is ingestion of a large quantity of the seeds. These signs could include tremors or stumbling, not walking correctly, or not acting like her normal self. However baked into a muffin there are probably not enough seeds to cause a problem. If you notice Winnie being a little bit off at all, bring her for an examination with her veterinarian, otherwise I wouldn't worry too much about it.
