My dog ate a chocolate muffin. Could he get chocolate poisoning?

Chocolate is toxic to dogs, but the cocoa content in a muffin will be relatively small. The big danger to dogs is eating really dark chocolate. If you are close to a vet you could take him to be made sick to be super safe, however this needs to be done within an hour. Bullet should be fine though. You may find he has a bit of an upset tummy though. Keep him drinking and if he becomes very sick head to the vet.

A single chocolate-covered donut should not contain enough chocolate to cause any problems for a dog this size, so I wouldn't worry - she should be just fine :) She may have some mild stomach upset for the next 24 hours or so if she isn't used to eating human food like this, but she should not have any toxicity problems related to the chocolate.

At this time frame I would've expected her to have more signs of toxicity if she was going to have issue. However she could still have mild stomach upset so watch her for loose stools/diarrhea and decreased appetite. If she is fine after 24-36 hours she's unlikely to have any issues.

It sounds like she is suffering from chocolate toxicity, and if the muffins were made with cocoa powder, that is very serious as it's the most poisonous type of chocolate to dogs. She needs veterinary attention now, please bring her into an ER vet or find a vet on call to see her ASAP.

No worries about this. Even if it was a rather big cookie with big chunks of chocolate, it would not be enough to cause chocolate toxicity in a dog that size. One of the first signs of chocolate toxicity is vomiting and hyperactivity. If you haven't noticed this yet, then there's little chance he will have any signs of toxicity. If he happens to show these signs, then a trip to the vet will be needed for monitoring and medication. Bubba will probably be fine as that is not a toxic dose of chocolate. He may have mild stomach upset from the sugar/fat in the food so watch for vomiting and diarrhea. If that occurs sometimes a bland diet for a few days is helpful but rarely a veterinarian visit is needed if it doesn't resolve on its own within a day or two.

Considering her weight few laps of it (especially if not dark chocolate) should not provoke any toxicity. I would monitor her for the next hours and if showing any signs (restless/generally unsettled, breathing abnormally, vomiting, diarrhoea) a check up would be needed.
