Dog ate macadamia nuts and can't walk. What to do before vet?

If a veterinary consultation is not an option, I would suggest to start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice vomiting, lethargy or inappetence. Macadamia nuts are toxic to dogs. Symptoms of toxicity include weakness, lethargy, wobbling while walking, tremors and a high temperature. Symptoms usually start within 12 hours of ingestion and resolve within 24 hours. There is no known effect on the puppies. If she has eaten the cookie within the last 1 to 2 hours, you could take her to a veterinarian and have them induce vomiting to try and prevent as much absorption of the nuts as possible. Otherwise, watch her very closely. It sounds like she didn't ingest much and would only need veterinary care if the symptoms become severe.

I would not give any more hydrogen peroxide either. I recommend feeding him a normal meal and ensuring he has plenty of access to water. I hope this is helpful!

None of those nuts are specifically toxic, though the high fat content could cause some vomiting, diarrhea, or pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas that can cause a lot of pain and vomiting). If she starts vomiting and vomits more than twice in a 12 hour period, if she starts acting painful or lethargic, or she’s having watery diarrhea, take her in to your vet. In the meantime, just keep an eye on her, and offer her a bland diet of boiled chicken and white rice for the next couple of days. Hi and thanks for your post on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I would be more concerned about the lethargy for 24 hours than the acorn she just ate. Acorns are generally not toxic to dogs unless eaten in large quantities. At most, GI upset such as diarrhea or vomiting could occur. The biggest concern with eating acorns is the possibility of the acorn causing an intestinal obstruction. I would advise you to take Buddy into his veterinarian if he is still lethargic tomorrow. There are a variety of medical conditions that can cause lethargy, so having Buddy examined and perhaps preforming some blood work on him will help get some answers. Wow, that is a lot of macaroons! More than likely, Amber will experience some GI upset from eating all that sugar. You may see some vomiting and diarrhea from it. If you do see any GI upset, withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. She should be ok :-)
