My dog ate 10 macaroons. What should I do if she's acting fine?

Oh my, that was naughty of him to eat all that! Luckily the Oreos won't contain a lot of chocolate, and if the donut wasn't chocolate either, there wouldn't be a concern about chocolate toxicity. The concern is the sugar content, which can and does cause GI upset. I can give you a home remedy to try if you see any GI upset in the form of vomiting. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. This may cause some GI upset, and potentially could cause bigger problems if there was a lot of garlic and onion it, but otherwise, Amber should be fine. I bet she enjoyed it! Maxi can get pancreatitis from this or diarrhea and vomiting. I would recommend giving her a bland diet (boiled chicken and white rice) just to calm everything down and then monitor her. If she starts vomiting, diarrhea, not eating, becomes lethargic then I recommend bringing her to a veterinarian. If a veterinary consultation is not an option, I would suggest to start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice vomiting, lethargy or inappetence. If it has been less than an hour since your pet ate it, you can induce vomiting by giving an oral dose of hydrogen peroxide, about 1 cc per pound. One tablespoon is about 5 cc. A turkey baster will work if you don't have a syringe. Longer than an hour and it will have already moved into the intestines. That amount of chocolate in the cookies is probably not enough to do much harm but watch your dog for signs of staggering, imbalance, and seizures. If any of these occur, get your dog in to see your vet immediately.
