My puppy ate Genteal Artificial Tears eye drops. Will she be okay?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding your dog. As long as she did not eat any of the make up or the packaging, I suspect she will be fine. If she did consume either of the above, then I recommend monitoring her closely. If she develops vomiting or diarrhea, then I recommend that she sees a veterinarian. I'm sorry to hear Jax ate something he shouldn't! This is unfortunately a common behavior in puppies so hopefully he grows out of it. With an object as small as that little plastic eye, it should likely pass through with minimal issue for Jax. If he ate it very recently (within the last hour or two) you could go to your vet where they can use special medication to make him vomit, and hopefully bring the piece of plastic back up. If it's been longer than that then I recommend monitoring Jax carefully, ensure that he continues eating and drinking normally, and check his stool each time he poops to see if the piece of plastic has passed. If you notice that Jax becomes lethargic, goes off his food, or starts vomiting then you need to schedule a visit with your regular veterinarian for a thorough physical exam and possibly some X-rays to check for an obstruction. Since Jax has now shown us that he likes to chew on things it would be recommended to only offer toys that are safe for him to chew, with no extra pieces that might come off. And if he starts to shred a toy then it is time to replace it as even pieces of fabric can cause obstruction issues.

This may cause Bruce to have a slightly upset stomach, possibly some diarrhoea for example but there shouldn't be any lasting problems as it is a natural herbal based product. In that case a bland diet of boiled chicken breast and boiled white rice may be helpful for a few days to help settle things. If he displays any signs other than mild gastrointestinal upset or if the symptoms persist then I would recommend making an appointment with your veterinarian so that they can examine him. Gentamicin is a medication that we use to treat infections by IV as well as topical like in the eye. It may taste real bitter and cause some salivation, but it should not cause any other problems than that, except you need to buy a new bottle now! Best of luck and Thank you for using Pet Coach.

This may cause some GI upset which may result in vomiting and/or diarrhea. If it is limited to a couple of bouts and she's back to normal in 12 hours or so, you don't need to worry. Just keep an eye on her for the next 12-24 hours, and if she develops vomiting or diarrhea that is severe or continuous, or if she becomes increasingly lethargic, seek emergency care.

At worst, you may see some GI upset (vomiting and/or diarrhea). If this happened recently, you can rinse her mouth with cool water for at least 15 minutes then dry her thoroughly. If she vomits once or twice yet is behaving normally, you can try withholding food for 24 hours then feeding a bland diet for a few days. Transition slowly to her regular diet afterwards. In the meantime, monitor for lethargy, persistent vomiting/diarrhea, loss of appetite or abdominal pain. These are symptoms that would need to be addressed by a veterinarian at the nearest veterinary ER.
