Rigs should be ok, there isn't a ton of chocolate in a chocolate croissant. At most, you may see some GI upset. The biggest concern I'd have is pancreatitis from the fat in the croissant. If you see abdominal pain, vomiting, lethargy, or anorexia, have her see a vet immediately.

Oh dear! It would help to have a better idea of how large the croissant was and how much chocolate was in it as well as how much your dog weight, since we would need this information in order to figure out if this is a possible toxic dose or not. I can tell you that from my experience, my gut impression is that there is probably not enough actual cocoa content in a single chocolate croissant to cause any serious problems in a medium-sized dog - but without specific details, I'm afraid I can't give a more concrete answer than that.

If you want to be on the safe side, you could take Littlefella to an emergency vet today - the vet there can give him an injection to induce vomiting, and also administer activated charcoal to help prevent absorption. If you opt not to do this, I would monitor him for the next 6-12 hours for any problems. Symptoms of chocolate toxicity would include restlessness or hyperactivity, a racing heart rate, muscle tremors, or seizures. If you have any concerns about how he is acting, it would be best to take him to the vet to be safe.

I am sorry for the late response. The website was experiencing a delay in posting questions. Croissant dough can potentially cause a foreign body blockage in the intestines. Since I see it has been more than the recommended time frame to induce vomiting (< 2 hrs), I would recommend monitoring Bubba for any signs of an obstruction, which includes: excessive vomiting (even water), lethargy, lack of appetite, and scant (few) feces). If you notice any of these symptoms then it is best to have him evaluated by your local veterinarian. You can take him on 20 minute brisk walks to help stimulate GI motility and feed him canned food for now. Hopefully he passes these with ease and only has mld GI symptoms (some vomiting or diarrhea). If you notice GI symptoms, then its best to give him a bland diet of boiled plain chicken and rice or cottage cheese for a few days (in small amounts), and then slowly transitioning him back to his normal diet. She's really cute! If you're talking about a chocolate flavored rice cereal, there shouldn't be a problem aside from a possible upset stomach from eating something unfamiliar. Chocolate toxicity is serious, but there is so little actual chocolate and therefore very little of the substance called theobromine that is what is toxic to dogs and cats. The darker the chocolate, the more dangerous it is. Unless she got into actual chocolate such as chocolate chips, bakers chocolate or ate a candy bar, she should be fine.

I worry about the bread itself being potentially high in sugar or fat. This can cause significant gastrointestinal upset or even pancreatitis. My dog ate a chocolate donut. Will they be okay from the chocolate?

A single chocolate-covered donut should not contain enough chocolate to cause any problems for a dog this size, so I wouldn't worry - she should be just fine :) She may have some mild stomach upset for the next 24 hours or so if she isn't used to eating human food like this, but she should not have any toxicity problems related to the chocolate.
