My pitbull ate a balloon. Should I be worried? Will she be okay?

That's not good that Daisy ate a balloon! It's good that she is pooping like normal, and there is a good chance this balloon will pass without problem. It can take up to 72 hours for it to pass however, so continue to keep an eye on her. If she stops eating, starts vomiting, has diarrhea, stops passing feces, and/or becomes very lethargic, then I would take her into a vet immediately. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

I'd keep monitoring Bella for now. If you see vomiting, diarrhea, she doesn't poop at all, lethargy, or loss of appetite, then you will have to take her into a vet right away. This may pass without problem, but I can't say for sure.

Balloons are more likely to cause a blockage as they often fill with stuff in the stomach and then become a big ball, so we recommend getting to a vet ASAP to induce vomiting. If you can't get to a vet, monitor very very carefully and any signs of vomiting, not eating, painful abdomen, get to a vet right away as surgery might then be required. Best of luck with Enzo!

Hello. Pancakes should be able to pass this as it is pretty small & pliable. If it has been more than a few hours since she ate the balloon, it is possible it has already passed out of the stomach into the intestines. I have seen cases where kitties have vomited up strange things a week later. Just watch her over the next 5-7 days for a loss of appetite, lethargy, diarrhea, & protrusion of the third eyelids. These are the tissues in the inner corner of each eye & when you can see them covering at least half the eyes, it is a clear indication that Pancakes does not feel well. As Scarlett vomited up the peach pit she should now be fine. Please keep an eye on her as long as she's eating and pooping normally she will be fine. Don't worry, this is unlikely to cause any issues. Most small pieces of plastic and cloth and other material pass just fine in the stool, if the puppy doesn't vomit it up first. If Snowball is vomiting over and over again tonight or tomorrow, or doesn't seem herself, then she should see a vet. Otherwise, she'll likely be just fine! Hope that helps!

Hi there! I'm sorry to hear that Bear has given you a scare. If she got off a small piece of fabric and ingested it, it will probably pass on its own with no trouble. If the piece was large or had any plastic bits attached to it, keep a very close eye on her for any signs of vomiting, lethargy, or diarrhea, as they may be symptoms of an obstruction. Bring her to the vet right away if any of these symptoms develop. It is very unlikely that she inhaled the piece, but do also keep an eye out for any further coughing or breathing difficulty, as this would also warrant an immediate trip to the vet's office.
