Why is my dog acting weird with dilated pupils and head bobbing?

Poor guy. I would absolutely think about. Neurologist consult but the first thing that should be done is an exam by your regular vet and bloodwork/urinalysis done to rule out any other detectable underlying cause. Plus the neurologist will want to have you referred by your regular vet in order to see Oskar. Mainly what we want to rule out first is any underlying liver issue (hepatic encephalopathy or a liver shunt). Liver problems can for the most part be treated through your regular vet. Hi there. This sounds more like a focal seizure, or some abnormal activity in her nervous system. Not responding to any stimulus indicates that her nervous system is overloaded and she cannot respond. The length of time the episodes are lasting is also concerning. I would recommend finding a veterinary neurologist to take her to. Your local vet may be able to make a recommendation. She should be examined by a vet to determine the cause. She could have an infection, neurological disease, toxic exposure, liver/kidney disease, endocrine disease, etc. Your vet can do a physical examination and run lab-work to help diagnose and then determine the best way to treat the problem.

Based on your description, I would be concerned that Ebony may have gotten into something toxic such as chocolate, or may be having a reaction to some type of medication if she's taking anything currently. Without knowing for sure what is causing her symptoms, the safest course of action would be to have her seen by an emergency vet tonight - in some cases, dogs with these symptoms can have dangerous heart arrhythmias or other problems, which the vet can check for during their exam. Depending on what is found, they may recommend keeping Ebony tonight for observation, or blood work to help diagnose the problem.

It sounds as Luna is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet urgently, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

If you can call Piper's name and she stops, and if she seems to be her normal self otherwise it's possible that she is having an idiopathic head tremor. The cause of the tremors is unknown but they occur in many breeds and usually are not harmful. If she has had any seizures, if she seems disoriented, or if she seems painful I'd recommend seeing your veterinarian.
