Why is my dog sad with dilated pupils, licking, and dry mouth?

Poor pup! I'm sorry to hear that she's having this problem. There are a number of different things that could cause problems with closing the mouth and excessive drooling like this, so it's hard to say what might be wrong without being able to examine her. Some common possibilities would include an injury to the mouth or jaw, a tumor or infection in the mouth, or a neurologic problem such as a stroke. I would recommend taking your dog to the vet for an exam today, if possible, since some of these problems can be quite serious. Your vet can do a complete neurologic exam and may also sedate her so that a thorough oral exam can be performed as well. Once a diagnosis is made, he/she can talk to you about what treatment will be needed.

Poor girl. This breed is prone to several disorders that can cause this including: hepatic encephalopathy, hydrocephalus, a brain tumor, or even just vestibular disease. I would highly recommend taking her in to your vet for further testing (ie Bloodwork +/- xrays) as soon as possible. I hope that your fur baby I able to become stable soon! These sound like neurological symptoms but the symptoms are quite general, you will need to take him to the vet in order to have him checked and have a blood test done to start with, hopefully this will reveal something that can help with the diagnosis.

It sounds as Luna is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet urgently, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.

Poor Luckie, she sounds sick. If she is nauseous, that could cause her to lick her lips and drink lots of water. Being lethargic and not moving around can mean she has a fever or is in pain. Luckie may have an issue inside the GI tract (intestines) causing nausea or trouble with how her organs, particularly kidneys and liver are functioning as the cause for these symptoms. I recommend having Luckie examined by a veterinarian as soon as possible. They may recommend x-rays to look at the GI tract and/or blood work to evaluate her kidneys and liver. Good luck!

A sore, weepy eye may indicate infection or injury. The excessive thirst has several causes including diabetes, renal disease, liver disease, endocrine disorders, fever or infection. Ideally, an exam with your veterinarian would be recommended. The eye can be examined to diagnose any cause and blood and urine samples can be submitted to assess major organ function. These may lead to a definitive diagnosis after which the appropriate treatment can be administered. Place an e-collar (cone) on her to prevent pawing or rubbing at the eye until she sees the doctor.

Sorry that Maxie is having this problem. She really should be examined by a vet to determine the cause. She could have an urinary tract infection or a uterine infection, especially since she isn't spayed. Your vet can run lab-work and take an x-ray, if needed, to help diagnose and then decide the best way to treat. Please call your vet and have her seen.
