Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labradoodle | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 10 days old | 7 lbs

So my puppy got her tape worm pill a couple of days ago and I didn’t know she did because my dad gave it to her and I gave her another one can it hurt her?

Hi and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Generally speaking the active ingredients in most of these dewormers for dogs have a very wide margin of safety so giving another dose by accident is not likely to cause any significant issues.

    Hello,

It should not harm her. Dewormers are very safe drugs and the most severe signs I would expect are mild vomit and diarrhea, if anything at all.

You will need to pick up another dose to repeat in a month though. :)
I hope this helps. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
