My aggressive dog has a cloudy eye; vet turned us away. What now?

Hi! Sounds like Max really needs to see someone. What we usually do at our clinic is this: as long as a pet comes in with a well fitted muzzle, we can usually help. Max will need to be sedated, to be treated. So, call ahead to your vet clinic, and let them know that Max needs help. They are under no obligation to treat him if he is truly dangerous. But, if he is able to wear a muzzle, that should be a big help to the staff.

Oh no, poor Gabi! You will have to bring him into the vet as it sounds like he was quite injured and he has to have veterinary. This is not something that you can treat at home, and leaving the damage on his eye untreated can lead to permanent vision loss. The vet can sedate him to treat his injuries safely. I would consider this a medical emergency, please bring him into a vet now.

This is an emergency, your vet should see you right away, if he refuses you have to take him to another vet that will see him today. cloudiness of the eye is a very serious symptom, there are several eye condition that could cause that but it is important to start the treatment urgently, otherwise permanent eye damage could occur.

The best treatment is to have a vet look at the eyes and check for corneal scratches and other injuries so they can be treated with a pet-approved eye medication. Keeping the dogs separated if they are constantly fighting and monitoring them when they are together can prevent further injury. An Elizabethan (cone) collar can be used to keep your dogs from pawing at the eyes as well as they heal, but treatment from your vet is required.

I am sorry to hear about Ojo. It is impossible without seeing your dog's eye to tell exactly what is going on here. It is possible he has edema in the cornea, which can resolve, but without an in-person exam we cannot say. If this was a bite, a visit to the vet is definitely recommended because an antibiotic may be needed to prevent infection (bite wounds need to be treated because the mouth contains many bacteria). They also may need to check for wounds/tears in the cornea that may need special medication to heal. I would see the doctor ASAP because eyes can worsen quite quickly.

Hi and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Thank you for the pictures as well- poor little Rudy! Yes, you will need to take Rudy into see his veterinarian. Rudy is squinting and seems reluctant to open his right eye. He may have endured trauma or injury to his eye which may have resulted in a corneal abrasion or scratch which are quite painful and need special treatments in order to heal properly. Your veterinarian will examine the eye and will stain the eye to check for corneal injury. Rudy may need to go home with antibiotic eye medications or other medications as needed. Without a photo I cannot really give you any suggestions other than to take Shaggy to your vet for an exam. If you want to post again with some photos then maybe we could be more helpful. I can tell you that any eye injuries can be severe to the point that he could lose his vision so your best course of action (especially based on your description) would be to get him to your vet for an exam.
