Unspayed cat sick after accident: not eating, has vaginal discharge.

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | unspayed | 6.6 lbs

Frankie almost got ran over by a car when I was reversing to come out from the house porch. (Yesterday). But I saw her in shock and running away without any visible physical injury. These past few weeks her belly has gotten bigger like she is pregnant but on mid 9/17 when i got her vaccinated the DVM said she is not pregnant & can proceed with vaccination., right after she got shock from the incident she became quiet, doesnt eat and has vaginal discharge. Is she Injured Or going into labour

I'm sorry Frankie isn't well! It is possible that she is pregnant, but I would also be concerned that this discharge you are seeing is from a pyometra. A pyometra is a life threatening infection of the uterus that requires immediate medical attention. Leaving it untreated is fatal. It's also serious she won't eat. When cats don't eat for a period of time, they develop a fatty liver which is fatal without treatment. I would take Frankie back into a vet immediately. The vet can diagnose what is causing her discharge and why she isn't eating, and can treat her. Please know that if she does have a pyometra, spaying her is part of the recommended treatment. That discharge is very abnormal. My guess is that she may have a pyometra (uterine infection). I suggest you get her to a vet as soon as you can. If you are not near an emergency vet she can likely wait until morning as long as she is eating and drinking OK. If she is acting sick then you need to find an emergency vet right now. It may be coming from her vulva. She may have a mucous or pus filled uterus. With her belly being big too that is even more likely to be a uterus problem. Is she has a pus filled uterus (pyometra) that is a surgical emergency. It is good that it is draining. My recommendation is have her looked at sooner than later. Your Vet will likely do blood work and take a belly X-ray. I wish you and Bella the best of luck!

I am sorry to hear this! Yes, it could be pyometra. This can be life threatening so I highly recommend that you take Tingu to the vet immediately! The fact that she is not eating suggests that she is not feeling well and even if not pyometra, they can get her back on track ASAP! I hope she feels better soon!

My unspayed female cat has milky discharge and pain. What's happening?

This is likely a uterine infection and the milky substance would be pus. In these cases it's best to have her evaluated by a veterinarian, because these infections can get worse if left untreated. It's not an emergency, but best to have her seen within 24 hours. The vet can give the necessary medications and spay her to keep it from happening again. This is a concern, especially since she is not using the litter box and hiding. As Mia is not spayed, there is a possibility that she has a uterine infection, which could cause sepsis, Please take Mia to your vet ASAP for an exam. Your vet will want to do an x-ray or ultrasound to check her uterus. If she has a uterine infection (pyometra) then she will need surgery.

My unspayed cat has clear discharge from her vagina. Is it serious?

Discharge from the vulva of an unspayed female is always very concerning. Your cat may have a urinary tract infection or may have a more serious condition called a pyometra. This is where the uterus becomes infected. Pyometra can be life threatening. If this is what is going on with Panda she will need surgery to have her uterus removed. She will also need to be on antibiotics. I would recommend taking Panda in to see your vet as soon as possible so she can be evaluated and treatment can be initiated. I hope this helps. Best of luck.
