How do I know if my kitten loves me? What are the signs of affection?

I would continue spending time with her and offer treats. Call her to sit on your lap. Also watch closely to signs she’s getting annoyed: slight flicking of ears, tail wagging that would indicate she doesn’t like how she is being pet. It is just as possible she’ll go back to showing you more attention. I wish you the best!

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I wouldn't let Halley bite you, even when playing. You want to train puppies and kittens not to do that. Always use a toy or stop playing when they start biting you. Biting does decrease as they get older. Good luck!

I would encourage you to speak softly to her and try to avoid sudden movements when interacting with her. There is a product called Feliway which can help cats feel more at ease in situations that are stressful to them and this may be helpful. Good luck and have a great day!

These are pretty common behaviors for a young cat. Cats are often nocturnal/playful at night, and the its very rare for cats to greet their people when they come home. As far as following you around, and crying for you when you're gone, you are probably her favorite person! I don't think you have anything to worry about with her. You can add some environmental enrichment things to help keep her occupied/ entertained, and this may help. You can try to find treats and things for him to eat that he really enjoys. You can get him to come out and feed him a treat while you pet him. This will most likely help if you stay consistent and persistent. It is important to note that some kitties are really not very affectionate and while he may become more social, he may never be a kitty who enjoys constant interaction. Good luck and have a good day!
