Does my kitten really understand my affection when I kiss her?

Halley is still young and likely will show more affectionate behaviors. Signs that an animal cares for or loves you are: vocalizing when they see you, following you around, seeking you out for attention, purring and kneading when pet. I am sure she does love you! I would continue spending time with her and offer treats. Call her to sit on your lap. Also watch closely to signs she’s getting annoyed: slight flicking of ears, tail wagging that would indicate she doesn’t like how she is being pet. It is just as possible she’ll go back to showing you more attention. I wish you the best!

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I wouldn't let Halley bite you, even when playing. You want to train puppies and kittens not to do that. Always use a toy or stop playing when they start biting you. Biting does decrease as they get older. Good luck!

Also, cavities in cats are much less common than in human. Ballball will be fine even if he gets frequent kisses from the ower. He will not develop cavities because of that.

Hello, sorry to hear about Halley. Your kitten may be trying to play with your eye lashes as you blink. The playful activity is normal and she wouldn't understand not to do that. To prevent any injury both to you and your kitten, avoid having her so near your face, or remove her from the scenario when she begins to stare at your eyes. Hope this helps and best of luck.

This is a form of affection that cats typically display. This is a common area for cats to be affectionate towards and there is nothing wrong with that unless it bothers you. If you want to stop this behavior, you will need to let Kirishima know that this is an undesired behavior by saying "off!" and rewarding him when he stops the behavior. Try just keeping your hand still next time. Let her lick/nibble as she likes without attempting to move or pet her. Eventually she will learn to fully trust you and will start rubbing her head on you. Then start very slowly (without moving th position of your hand) rubbing back and forth with just your fingers.
