Why does my cat follow me, cry, not greet, and play wildly at night?

This can be normal cat behavior. Sometimes they are needy and asking for something such as food or attention, sometimes they are bored. Be sure to try to encorporate lots of environmental enrichment for Roxy around your home—scratching posts, toys, treat puzzle toys, elevated car walkways on the wall, elevated perches or window perches, bird feeders on windows next to perches etc. That may help minimize this behavior. If the behavior is related to anxiety, which is possible, a product such as Feliway or Comfort Zone may be helpful. You can use catnip on scratching posts and toys to stimulate her to play with them. If she's alone during the day she probably has excess energy. I do not think this is a medical problem. Try having her play with a laser pointer, throw toys or treats for her to chase and try to get her to exercise earlier in the day. As she ages she will outgrow this behavior. Cats often sleep all day then are active at night. Don't try to catch her or control her as when they are like this she may scratch or bite. It sounds like you have an active young kitty cat! Well, unfortunately, you are doing many of things I would suggest for you to do already. However, we have not yet exhausted all of our options. It sounds like Ginger is experiencing some level of distress, whether or not its due to separation or a need for attention is very hard to say. I would consider adding some Feliway Diffusers into the home. They can be found on Amazon or at a local pet store. They send out pheromones into the environment that aim to calm the cat. They also make direct sprayers that you can put onto objects or even directly onto the kitty himself. If this sort of thing works, it usually doesn't happen overnight. Another option, which may not be possible and might sound insane, would be getting a second kitty. Ginger just may need a friend to keep her company when you aren't around. There are also pharmaceutical interventions that can be given if what Ginger is experiencing is truly anxiety. A behavioral work up by a trainer or vet at your home would be very helpful in this case just to get a full idea of the entire situation. I hope one of these tips can give you some peace at night.

Tempest probably is lonely, and she wants you to keep her company in the middle of the night when she wants to be active! I think the easiest thing to do in a situation like this is to keep her out of the room at night - she may yowl outside the door or scratch to get in but if you ignore her she'll learn that she's not going to entice you to get up. It would also be helpful to put some interactive toys out at night to keep her occupied. I'm also guessing that she's a young adult cat based on your picture, but if she is over 8 years old I would also recommend taking her to see your vet - some diseases like hyperthyroidism can cause cats to become more vocal and irritable.
