My senior cat smells like urine and has a vulva lump. Is it serious?

Hello. This looks like a very severe infection. The topical washes that you are using may be irritating the area more as they are not formulated for feline skin. This kitty really needs to see a veterinarian to be examined and treated. At minimum, she needs a prescription antibiotic. Your vet may want to do a urinalysis or an X-ray . Please try to have her seen ASAP.

Older cats have a tendency to have problems with their kidneys as they get older. This can result in their kidneys not concentrating their urine as well, so it is more dilute and has less (or no) odor to it. Kidney disease can cause a number of problems, so I would recommend having your veterinarian evaluate Lilly and check a urine sample and blood work. Having more dilute urine can also predispose older cats to urinary tract infections, that will will be important to check for as well. If you have one available in your area, you might consider having a house call vet come to the house if Lilly does not do well going to the vet. Hi. It could be possible that Stink has a urinary tract infection. If she is urinating.outside the box as well, that could be a sign of a urimary tract infection or stress as well. I recommend contacting your veterinarian to schedule an exam and a urinalysis as well to start. It will provide alot of information and help.guide us to the probable diagnosis.

Poor girl. It looks like Memow has an infection going on there possibly. I would get this checked by your vet. The hair needs to be shaved away and the skin looked at closely. If there is an infection, as suspected, then Me-mow will need a short course of antibiotics to hopefully clear this up. The vet will also likely want to check her for a UTI, since this is a common cause for infections near the genital area. If she is not grooming well, then this could also indicate an internal organ issue, so bloodwork may be recommended to check her full health status and make sure we don't miss anything underlying. Older kitties definitely have a harder time cleaning their back end usually from arthritis. Because she is leaking urine, I would be worried about a urinary tract infection or a possible stone causing issues with normal urination. I recommend a vet exam to rule out the above concerns. They may need to check her urine or take a radiograph. If all checks out, they can discuss medications to help with arthritis pain. Good luck and kisses to Kitty!

Sounds like your cat has something affecting her nervous system and it is pretty severe. He nerves innervate the eyes, influence her stance, her gait and also her mentation (ability to be aware of her surroundings). Several things can affect the nervous system including toxins, chemicals, liver shunts, primary brain stem lesions and tumors, and severe liver disease. I would highly recommend taking her in to your vet for baseline bloodwork and radiographs to start. Her lab work findings will help them pinpoint what is going on with her internally so that you can best help your furry friend.
