It is very common that cats with renal disease can develop secondary bacterial urinary tract infections, but we wouldn't want to give her medications that she doesn't need unless we know that for sure by testing a urine sample. Poor kitty. Cookie may have an eye infection, a lesion on her nerve (Horners syndrome) or an allergic reaction. However the bloody butt is something completely different and requires a complete exam to determine if this is coming form the stool or anal glands. All of these conditions will requires a vet visit I'm afraid to get to find out the cause and then prescribe medications to treat. There aren't any over the counter options that will help Cookie. This can be a very serious, life threatening condition that needs to be evaluated and treated by your veterinarian as soon as possible. If there is an emergency clinic near your home I would consider bringing Ellie in to be examined. If there is no way to get to a veterinarian before Monday I would watch Ellie very closely for any changes in activity level, appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, water intake, urination, etc. so you can give your veterinarian as much helpful information as possible when you arrive. There are, of course, other reasons for discharge around the hind end (such as dried diarrhea, expressed anal gland discharge, flea "dirt", among other things), I cannot rule any of these out without diagnostic tests. This could also be caused by intestinal parasites. If the clear liquid is coming from her vulva, it could be urine and Chase could have a UTI. None of these things will kill her, but she does need to see a vet in order to have the cause diagnosed so she can be treated. The cost of treatment for this varies by area and clinics within the area, but for anal sac impaction, that should only be the cost of an exam to fix. Any medication needed, such as for intestinal worms, would be an additional cost on top of the exam. For a UTI, there will be tests needed to be done as well as antibiotics prescribed. Poor Oreo! Straining in the litter box can be caused by constipation, diarrhea, or urinary issues - it's often quite difficult to tell if a cat is straining to pee or poop, so it can be hard to differentiate these things if you aren't used to looking at them. The most concerning possibility is that Oreo may have a urinary obstruction, especially if you have not seen a significant amount of urine in either box since yesterday. This is unfortunately a very common problem in male cats, because their urethra is extremely narrow where it exits the penis - this area can often become "plugged" with crystals or mucus from the bladder. Signs of this problem include repeatedly going to the litter box without producing much urine, crying when trying to urinate, and often lethargy, decreased appetite, and vomiting. If he does have a urinary obstruction, this is a life-threatening emergency that needs immediate treatment, as the bladder can rupture and cause death within 24 hours in some cases. It's also possible that Oreo is using the litter box so much because he has diarrhea, or is having trouble passing stool because he is constipated. These problems are less common than urinary issues in my experience, but would still need to be treated by a vet - especially since he's been acting this way for two days now, and seems to be getting worse. I would recommend taking Oreo to the vet today for an exam. He/she can palpate his abdomen to check his bladder and colon, and may also recommend some diagnostic testing if needed to help diagnose the problem.
