Is it dangerous for my senior cat to be pregnant at 12 or 13?

If everything comes back fine then you can try. I wouldn’t breed her 10 or older and would spay her as soon as you are done. I hope this helps!

If she was mature enough to come in to heat she should be fine. When the kittens are weaned at 6-8 weeks I would have her spayed though to prevent further pregnancies and to control the cat population. Good luck!

Hello, and thanks for your question. I would VERY strongly discourage you from breeding Samra. It sounds like she has some lasting orthopedic problems from her young injury, and she may have injured her pelvis. Not only could her ability to give birth be affected if she had a pelvic injury, but if she has lasting orthopedic problems, the weight gain and joint laxity that pregnancy will cause will likely cause her pain and may even cause further damage. It would be best to spay Samra to avoid a pregnancy. Hope this helps!

Beautiful cat! Unfortunately there is no way for me to give you any sort of idea on age or health just by looking at the photos. You would need a vet to do an exam in person. All I can say is that she definitely appears to be an adult (over 1 year of age). As for breeding, it is recommended that females not have a litter until at least 18 months of age although they technically can become pregnant and have a litter as young as 7-8 months old. They can continue to be become pregnant and have litters well into their early teens. Not recommended to do so but it is possible. Whether or not you should 'go for it" is entirely up to you. Thank you for submitting your question regarding Peynir. While she is physically able to become pregnant at such a young age, it is not advisable. As a kitten, she herself is still growing. Pregnancy would put a huge demand at her body now. I recommend waiting until she is well over a year of age, if not two years old, to breed her. I hope this information helps!

Yes, Pixie can get pregnant as soon as she starts cycling. Yes, it will stunt her growth a little as she is not fully mature yet. She will not mate once she is pregnant but may come back into heat once the litter starts weaning. Cats can be prolific breeders so I would highly recommend to have her spayed ASAP! She can produce up to 27 kittens a year! Lastly, no, you may not be able to tell she has had kittens once she is spayed. I hope this helps!

Cat should not be bred until they've reached full maturity - sometime between 18 months and 2 years of age. I would recommend that the two cats are of similar sizes as using a much larger male can result in kittens that are too large causing problems at birth. You should also have both cats examined by a veterinarian prior to breeding to ensure that they are both healthy and have a no apparent hereditary conditions that could be passed on to the kittens. Please also keep in mind that pregnancy and delivery can result in some complications sometimes even needing surgery and you should be prepared for these expenses.
