My senior cat is sick, not eating or moving. Is it an emergency?

Lethargy and weakness can be caused by many different disease, and in an older cat this is more likely due to his kidneys not working. The third-eyelids coming up can be caused by dehydration, which can be related to kidney disease, diabetes, and other diseases. It sounds like Rudy should be seen by a vet. I would recommend getting Rudy into the vet as soon as they are open. If there is a 24 hour clinic this is an option as well, as it sounds like Rudy might need 24 hour care. As your cat has not been eating for a few days now as well as not drinking, this is an emergency. Cats can get liver disease from not eating for more than 2 days and not drinking will make them dehydrated and feel even worse and less inclined to drink and eat. Vomiting bile can be a sign of chronic or acute pancreatitis. There are some diseases that will have to be ruled out (can be done easily with a blood test), such as kidney disease and hyperthyroidism and dental problems. I think taking her to an emergency clinic is definitely warranted.

Oh no poor guy. There isn't much you can do for him at home in such a dire situation as this. He needs medical care unfortunately. If your vet is closed then I would highly recommend taking him in to an ER vet who is available after hours and is readily available to take care of Shadow in such an emergency type situation as this. If he isn't able to move, then I too would be suspicous of a stroke event, a saddle thrombus (clot in the lower abdomen), a urinary blockage (especially if he is vocal and unable to urinate), or some other cardiac disorder. He need immediate veterinary attention if you are going to be able to help Shadow at this time. Poor Shaggy is extremely sick, and this is a medical emergency. You need to take him into a vet now for medical treatment, it will be his best and only chance of survival. Please take him into an ER vet or find a vet on call to see him ASAP.

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. It sounds like your kitty is very ill. I would recommend taking him to an emergency clinic (or his regular clinic tomorrow if an emergency clinic is not possible) for an exam and labwork. This could be something treatable (or at least manageable, if not curable) or it may not be. I would be worried about kidney disease, thyroid disease, diabetes, cancer, and liver disease - it could definitely be other things too, but these are at the top of my list. Poor SoCo sounds extremely ill, and the symptoms you are describing are a medical emergency. As a senior cat, he could have many things wrong with him including dental problems, diabetes, kidney failure, hyperthyroidism, liver failure, or cancer among others. He needs veterinary care now to diagnose what is causing all his symptoms so he can be treated. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. Poor Moe! From what you're describing here, I'm afraid he sounds quite sick. Vomiting, not eating, and acting lethargic are always very concerning symptoms, especially since he's been sick for 2-3 days now and seems to be getting worse. Unfortunately, these are very vague symptoms that could be caused by almost any kind of illness, so it's hard to say what might be wrong without being able to examine him and run some tests. I do think that this sounds like a serious, potentially life-threatening problem that shouldn't wait until tomorrow, so I would recommend taking him to an emergency clinic today to be seen. If you're not sure where to go, try calling your regular vet's office - their voicemail message should have contact information for your nearest ER or an on-call doctor for emergencies.
