Why is my senior cat not eating, drinking, vomiting, and constipated?

I have a 15 year old cat who recently stopped eating and drinking the past two days he began throwing up bile and can't poop it came out of no where

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. It sounds like your kitty is very ill. I would recommend taking him to an emergency clinic (or his regular clinic tomorrow if an emergency clinic is not possible) for an exam and labwork. This could be something treatable (or at least manageable, if not curable) or it may not be. I would be worried about kidney disease, thyroid disease, diabetes, cancer, and liver disease - it could definitely be other things too, but these are at the top of my list.

Wow! That is old for a cat. If he is nearing the end of life, then the best thing to do is to make him comfortable. However you won't know that until you get some bloodwork done on him to check his organ function and red blood cells, for any abnormalities. It is very difficult to tell what he needs without knowing what is wrong, which is why testing may be needed for him.
You can try offering him slightly warmed cans of baby food and non-flavored Pedialyte (diluted with some water) until you can get him in to be checked out. If it is his time and there is nothing that can be done, you will unfortunately be faced with having to make the decision for him or let him go peacefully at home. Poor guy. Billy has lived such a long life under your care, and you should be proud of that, even though you may have to say goodbye to him soon. But it is important to do what is best for him and to seriously consider letting him go peacefully and not letting him suffer.

With the description and blood results, I worry about a condition known as hepatic lipidosis (fatty liver disease) or triaditis (inflammation of the pancreas, liver and small intestines). For fatty liver disease, a feeding tube is generally recommended to help bring cats out of this condition as nutritional support is key and extremely important in these cases. I would recommend an abdominal ultrasound as the next diagnostic step to help better determine what the cause could be. If Kitty is still not wanting to eat, you need to consider hospitalization and feeding tube placement to help her get through this. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. I'm sorry to hear that Kiko is sick! Unfortunately, these symptoms are rather vague and could be caused by lots of different things, so there's really no way to say what might be wrong with him or what kind of treatment might be helpful without a diagnosis. You didn't mention whether any testing was done at your vet visit, but I would definitely suggest general blood work (a CBC and chemistry panel) as a starting point. Even if your vet doesn't have lab equipment in-house, they should be able to send off blood to a reference lab for testing. Additional treatment suggestions would depend on what the lab results show. Feel free to post again with more information if you've already had some testing done.

Senior cat vomiting, not eating or drinking. Is it an emergency?

As your cat has not been eating for a few days now as well as not drinking, this is an emergency. Cats can get liver disease from not eating for more than 2 days and not drinking will make them dehydrated and feel even worse and less inclined to drink and eat. Vomiting bile can be a sign of chronic or acute pancreatitis. There are some diseases that will have to be ruled out (can be done easily with a blood test), such as kidney disease and hyperthyroidism and dental problems. I think taking her to an emergency clinic is definitely warranted.

CJ really needs a vet visit when you can manage it. In older cats hyperthyroidism, kidney disease, diabetes mellitus, inflammatory bowel disease are possibilities and require bloodwork to diagnose. The good news is many of the conditions can be treated or managed but you need a diagnosis in order to determine the best treatment. Some areas may have low cost clinics or many vets accept Care credit http://www.carecredit.com/apply/ I would contact local humane societies to see if they can offer any suggestions. Why is my senior cat sick, vomiting, and weak with normal bloodwork?

If all his bloodwork was normal that rules out kidney disease, liver disease, diabetes, etc. If your vet did not test for hyperthyroidism than a test should be done. An x-ray and/or ultrasound is defintely needed and will, hopefully, provide more information. He could have an infection, cancer, or obstruction/foreign body to name a few other possibilities. If he is not able to keep food down, I am not sure waiting until Friday is a good idea. He may continue to weaken and may become dehydrated. If your vet can't take an x-ray then you could consider taking him to an emergency clinic or another vet that can. An anti-vomiting injection may be helpfull if your vet didn't give him one. I hope that his problem is diagnosed and treated soon!

My 19-year-old cat is constipated, not eating, and throwing up. Help!

Cats often are not constipated but are having diarrhea. With her age I would be concerned about a disease causing a decreased appetite. I would recommend taking her to a veterinarian for blood work and possible x-rays. At this age kidney disease, cancer and hyperthyroidism are very common. Also bad dental disease can cause a change in appetite. She most likely has an underlying disease that is causing her these secondary issues. I do not think changing her diet will be enough to make her feel better. A veterinarian visit is best. Hope she feels better soon
