My cat can't move, eat, or drink. Vet closed. Is it an emergency?

Poor kitty! Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do for him at home except keep him calm, warm, and quiet. Do not give him any human medications, as many are toxic to cats and can be fatal if given. He needs veterinary attention immediately, and there is usually a vet on call after hours for emergencies. The information to reach a vet on call is usually found on the clinic's answering machine or website. If transportation is an issue, I would call a friend to drive you or a cab to take you. This sounds like a serious internal illness. You should take Growler in to your local ER vet right away for testing and medical care depending on what his condition is. Just about every disease process can cause these symptoms, including kidney disease, liver disease, an infection, and a bladder obstruction. It’s best to get him seen right away to hopefully help stabilize his condition. I hope Growler is able to make a full and speedy recovery. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It sounds like Shadow is seriously ill and would benefit from seeing a veterinarian. There is really not much you can do at home at this point. It is hard to know exactly what is going on as her clinical symptoms are a bit non-specific. However, diseases such as pancreatitis or another inflammatory or cancerous process is possible. You could consider your local humane society as they usually offer inexpensive veterinary care. I’m sorry to hear about Rudy! The picture of the eyes didn’t upload but honestly that’s probably not his main problem. Any animal that has not moved or eaten in 4 days needs to see the emergency vet immediately. Rudy is likely severely dehydrated at this time and very likely in shock. Common reasons for this in a 15 year old cat are kidney failure, unregulated Diabetes, and cancer. I do not recommend anything by mouth unless he is swallowing well and holding himself upright. If he is, small amounts of water as often as you can. Stop immediately if he starts coughing, gagging, or vomiting. I am so sorry again that his came on so suddenly.
