My 16-year-old cat is bleeding from her butt and having accidents.

These are very concerning signs - bleeding from the mouth can be a sign of a serious illness such as heart disease, severe liver or kidney disease, a clotting disorder, or severe dental problems. Combined with the fact that he is just laying down and pooping without realizing it, I would be very worried that he has a serious, life-threatening problem as this is extremely abnormal in cats - it often indicates that they are so weak and sick that they don't notice or care that they are soiling themselves. I would recommend getting your kitty to an emergency vet right away - he/she can do a thorough oral exam, and may also need to do blood work and x-rays to help diagnose the problem and see what can be done to help him.

She may have an anal sac abscess, or she could have a little bit of colitis and she just hasn’t had a bowel movement for you to see the full effect of what is going on. It is possible that this particular stool was difficult to pass and you helping to remove it may have caused a small amount of bleeding from the rectal tissue. Cats can become constipated, and if she has been passing less stool than usual, straining to defecate and had a decreased appetite I would recommend seeing a veterinarian. There are some other things that can cause blood in the stool as well including intestinal parasites, colitis or even inflammatory bowel disease. If the blood is persistent you should make an appointment to see your veterinarian as well.

I am sorry to hear that Boba Fett isn’t feeling well. The area in the picture looks like she has an injury to the skin. I would encourage you to have her evaluated by your veterinarian soon. This sounds like she may be in labour if she has not been neutered and requires urgent veterinary attention at this stage - an emergency c-section may be required. Other possibilities may be severe infection or prolapse which would also require treatment urgently before major blod loss

Poor cat. Bleeding from the rectum can be caused by a coagulation disorder, immune mediated disorder (IMHA), rectal prolapse or severe colitis. I would highly recommend taking Murphy in to your local vet right away to have him evaluated to determine the underlying cause since there are many possibilities here. This is not normal and could be a sign of urinary issues or trauma. If she has very recently been with the mother then neonatal isoerythrolysis would be another possibility but if you have had her more than a few days this would not be a possibility. I would recommend having a veterinarian examine her to determine what might be going on.
