Why is my cat bleeding around her rear end but not in her litter?

If you are sure it is coming from her anus, but she's otherwise acting normally, and the stools are formed and normal but there's a little blood from her anus afterwards, you could try adding a fiber and probiotic dietary supplement, this can help decrease inflammation in the colon. Something like this: If you aren't seeing any improvement, if her stools are soft or liquid or there is blood routinely present IN the stool, if she is vomiting, or the blood is coming from her vuvla, not her anus, have her evaluated by your vet. Talk to your vet about a rectal exam; we don't routinely do this in cats, but if her anal glands are bleeding or she has a growth or mass in her rectum, a rectal exam would be needed for evaluate for that. It looks like Coco may have a small amount of rectal tissue prolapsed. This can occur if they have parasites, chronic diarrhea, foreign body or constipation. I recommend having her checked for intestinal parasites and possibly adding water to her food to help her pass stool more easily. If she is vomiting or showing any other signs of illness she should see a pet ASAP.

If she had been uncomfortable due to that, she could have been licking and scooting. This could irritate the anal tissue and make it bleed. If this is the case, it should resolve on its own now that the anal glands have been addressed. You didn't mention why she is eating RCVD PD, but it is a diet that can be used for allergies. If so, she could be having a flare up of skin disease. Lastly, if she has any intestinal parasites, it can make the anus itch. If the bleeding doesn't stop she will need to be re-evaluated. She may have an infected anal sac or a little growth. You should have this examined by a veterinarian. If it is an impacted anal sac, it can easily be emptied. If it is a growth, it may have to be removed.

I don't see anything outwardly abnormal from these photos. The blood is usually from straining to defecate but it could also be from rectal polyps, issues with the anal glands, inflammatory bowel disease or intestinal parasites. It is not an emergency but I suggest you have her examined by your vet in the next couple days.

It is difficult to say without being able to examine your kitty. This may be blood from an anal gland infection, but could also be from an injury or bloody diarrhea. You should take her to a veterinary doctor as she will need antibiotics to prevent infection.

It is possible that this particular stool was difficult to pass and you helping to remove it may have caused a small amount of bleeding from the rectal tissue. Cats can become constipated, and if she has been passing less stool than usual, straining to defecate and had a decreased appetite I would recommend seeing a veterinarian. There are some other things that can cause blood in the stool as well including intestinal parasites, colitis or even inflammatory bowel disease. If the blood is persistent you should make an appointment to see your veterinarian as well.
