Pregnant cat declawed, spay cut. Are kittens safe? Is she in pain?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 7 months and 23 days old | 5.6 lbs
My husband and I told our cat to get spayed and declawed Monday, the vet declawed her then went to spay made an incision and found out she is pregnant she now is home. She was stapled back and given a three day pack of onisor for the pain for declaw and incision, and she is due in 3 weeks or less. I have many questions. Are the kittens going to be okay? Will she be able to give birth with the recent incision? She is holding on paw up and laying around should I ask for more pain medication?

This is certainly an unfortunate situation, as it sounds like the cat is in pain from the declaw procedure. There isn't a lot of information about the use of pain medication in pregnant animals, however in general opioids have been shown to be relatively safe, and at this point I would be very concerned about the comfort level of mom. Your vet should be able to prescribe buprenorphine, which can be given by you at home and provides about 8 hours of pain relief. She should definitely also have both paws securely bandaged at this point as well.
