What pain medication is safe for my cat after declaw surgery?

Ibuprofen is toxic to cats and should NOT be used at all. Another anti-inflammatory medication as Meloxicam should be ideally used. Antibiotics may be added as well. I would recommend getting Eddie to a veterinarian for an exam and pain medication (antibiotics may also be needed if bite wounds are present). Cats are very sensitive to drugs and there are only a few prescription pain medications available that are considered safe (these include buprenorphine and Onsior).

I would not recommend applying Quadritop to her incisions - it contains a corticosteroid that could inhibit healing. You may want to try a compressed paper litter like Yesterday's News since the corn could still get stuck in her incisions even though she's not scratching in the box.

Increased pain and limping 5days after surgery may indicate infection in the wound, and she needs to be assessed by a vet for pain relief and possibly antibiotics. Given she has had an anesthetic, surgical trauma and pain and post operative medications the risk of any additional treatment to kittens would be minimal

The dewclaws in the back may have been loosely attached which the operating veterinarian thought it would be best to have them removed. You would have to speak with the veterinarian to know for sure. I think it's likely something recent. Limping means Lily is in pain, and unfortunately there are no OTC pain medications you can give her. Many human ones are toxic to cats, and are fatal if given. I would take her into the vet in the morning for this problem. Rest her tonight as much as possible. No running, jumping, or playing.
