Is Pine-Sol harmful to cats? My kitties were exposed to the fumes.

Pine- Sol can be irritating to the nose and throat. If he licked any, monitor for drooling, vomiting or diarrhea. Have him examined by your veterinarian or at the nearest veterinary ER if necessary. It wouldn't take a large amount of Pine Sol to cause serious toxicity in such a small pup.

It can be toxic to dogs, but luckily it takes a lot to cause toxic effects and the toxic effects are usually limited to vomiting and diarrhea. I wouldn't worry too much unless they are starting to vomit. It's also good to rinse them off with normal water for 10 minutes, because it can be irritating to their skin. Yes, you are correct that pine needles do cause toxicity in cats but it's not serious side effects such as death. I would not rush her into a vet now, I would monitor her for signs of toxicity. The oils from the needle can be irritating to the mouth, causing excessive drooling or vomiting. You can try flushing Mirz's mouth with cool water. Pine needles are also difficult to digest, and they can cause GI irritation, vomiting, and possible GI obstruction or puncture if enough are eaten. If you do see vomiting, you can try withholding food for 12-24 hours, then feeding a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, she vomits the bland diet, she refuses to eat the bland diet, you see blood in her feces or vomit, she has diarrhea, and/or she becomes very lethargic, then I would rush her into a vet. Depending on the dilution, you may see some irritation in and around the mouth as well as vomiting and/or diarrhea. If Nala drank a large quantity, get her to your veterinarian or to the nearest veterinary ER. Either may induce vomiting via injection if indicated. Monitor for lethargy, drooling, pawing at the mouth or GI upset. Symptoms typically develop soon after ingestion.

Hello and thank you for asking your question. You did a good job giving her a bath after she had contact with the Pine-sol, and it is a good thing she didn't ingest any. As long as she continues to act normally and her skin and fur remain normal, and she is otherwise healthy, I would not be concerned. If she seems irritated by the area or excessively licks at the area, she may need to be evaluated by a veterinarian.

It sounds like you have taken the appropriate precautions and it should be just fine. Symptoms of cleaner ingestion may include: excessive drooling, vomiting, and/or a decrease in appetite. If any of this occurs for Mirz, please seek veterinary care. But once again, I do not think you have much to be concerned about after all you have done.

If Boo ingested any through grooming I would expect stomach upset such as vomiting or diarrhea. If you wiped him down immediately and he is otherwise acting fine there is likely nothing to be worried about. If he has any abnormal signs mentioned above or is just not acting himself I would recommend that you have him checked out by your veterinarian.
