My dog got Pine-sol on fur. Is she okay after bath? Anything else?

It can be toxic to dogs, but luckily it takes a lot to cause toxic effects and the toxic effects are usually limited to vomiting and diarrhea. I wouldn't worry too much unless they are starting to vomit. It's also good to rinse them off with normal water for 10 minutes, because it can be irritating to their skin. Pine- Sol can be irritating to the nose and throat. If he licked any, monitor for drooling, vomiting or diarrhea. Have him examined by your veterinarian or at the nearest veterinary ER if necessary. It wouldn't take a large amount of Pine Sol to cause serious toxicity in such a small pup.

Depending on the dilution, you may see some irritation in and around the mouth as well as vomiting and/or diarrhea. If Nala drank a large quantity, get her to your veterinarian or to the nearest veterinary ER. Either may induce vomiting via injection if indicated. Monitor for lethargy, drooling, pawing at the mouth or GI upset. Symptoms typically develop soon after ingestion.

I am sorry to hear about Foxy. I see your question was posted some time ago. Hopefully Foxy is doing just fine, but signs that would indicate she ingested enough to cause toxic effects would include vomiting, diarrhea, weakness, drunken appearance, lethargy. If any of these occur, seek veterinary care immediately. We will often recommend giving some milk to try to decrease effects on the GI tract if ingestion just occurred but since it has been some hours it is hard to say if this would help. Care that your vet can provide would include administration of activated charcoal to help decrease absorption of the toxins, IV fluid therapy to correct dehydration and support the kidneys, and medicaitons to help stop vomiting/GI upset. This toxin can affect the kidneys so keep a close eye as well on thirst and urination. If your dog starts showing increased thirst/urination then you should bring her to your vet to have her kidney values checked. If you want to play it safe, you can go ahead and bring her to your vet today to get her checked out.

Pinesol can definitely be irritating to the respiratory tract, but if they aren’t coughing then it probably hasn’t caused much problem. As far as other concerns if they had licked it before it was dry then it can cause mouth ulcers and gastrointestinal problems, and possibly organ problems. If you have any concerns they they are not eating well or vomiting then they should be seen immediately, otherwise if they didn’t consume any then the likelihood of a problem is slim. If Jazz is showing no symptoms by now, she will probably be fine. Symptoms to monitor for would be respiratory distress, red or inflamed skin, hair loss, itching, lethargy, excess salivation, excess thirst/urination or gastrointestinal upset (vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite). Seek veterinary attention if she develops any of these symptoms.

If the cloth was dry and he only bit it for a second than there is probably nothing to worry about. Monitor him for any abnormal signs and have your vet take a look at him if you notice anything concerning.
