My dog got soaked in Pine-Sol. Is it toxic? What should I do?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Toy Poodle | Female | unspayed | 4 months and 14 days old | 3 lbs

I was cleaning my floor with pinesol & I did not know it was bad for dogs until I decided to look it up & seen it was toxic, as I was cleaning the floor outside which it was pretty wet, my dog was running around the area and got soaked, I’m not sure if they drank any from the floor or anything but I’m scared something can happen to them?

It can be toxic to dogs, but luckily it takes a lot to cause toxic effects and the toxic effects are usually limited to vomiting and diarrhea. I wouldn't worry too much unless they are starting to vomit. It's also good to rinse them off with normal water for 10 minutes, because it can be irritating to their skin. If you happen to notice any problems with them, you are welcome to post another question to us.

I hope that helps and Mimzi gets better soon.
