My puppy drank Pine-Sol mop water. What symptoms should I watch for?

Pine- Sol can be irritating to the nose and throat. If he licked any, monitor for drooling, vomiting or diarrhea. Have him examined by your veterinarian or at the nearest veterinary ER if necessary. It wouldn't take a large amount of Pine Sol to cause serious toxicity in such a small pup.

It can be toxic to dogs, but luckily it takes a lot to cause toxic effects and the toxic effects are usually limited to vomiting and diarrhea. I wouldn't worry too much unless they are starting to vomit. It's also good to rinse them off with normal water for 10 minutes, because it can be irritating to their skin. Because he licked it, you may see some irritation to the mucus membranes in his mouth, and there possibly might be irritation to his GI tract. I would give him a bowl of milk to be safe, as that will stimulate mucus production to protect his mouth and GI tract. The milk may give Gunner some diarrhea, but that will pass.

If Smokey only smelled the cleaning solution wouldn't be too concerned but you may want to take him outside to a well ventilated area to get some fresh air. If he drank any of the water I would watch for regurgitation, vomiting, lethargy and lack of appetite. If any of those things occur you should have Smokey examined by a veterinarian right away. If he drank some he would develop ulcers in his mouth, tongue, and esophagus, depending on the strength. He would likely be drooling, have no appetite, difficulty breathing, panting and painful. If you aren't seeing any of these signs then he probably didn't contact any. If he is, he needs veterinary care immediately.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Domestos contains bleach. If it is not ultra concentrated and it was very dilute then the outcome is better. Usually symptoms start with in mins: drooling, red lips, irritation around the mouth, pawing around the mouth and vomiting if a lot is consumed. Bleach is corrosive causing irritation of the gums, esophagus and stomach. If the bleach you use is ultra concentrated then Harley should see a vet immediately. Otherwise if Harley got the bleach on his fur, bathe him in lots of water and mild soap. Rinse his mouth out with lots of water and encourage him to drink water. You can add chicken broth, tuna juice and even try some milk to encourage drinking. If he starts to show symptoms despite the above he should see a Vet. I hope this helps and I wish you the best!

As long as she continues to act normally and her skin and fur remain normal, and she is otherwise healthy, I would not be concerned. If she seems irritated by the area or excessively licks at the area, she may need to be evaluated by a veterinarian.
