My 6-month-old kitten is throwing up undigested food. What to do?

I am sorry Sock is not feeling well. This much vomiting is not normal. I would be concerned about a foreign body causing obstruction, infection or even possible coccidia. I would recommend taking Socks to the vet for additional testing like an x-ray of the abdomen and even possible blood work. the concern is dehydration and weight loss with the vomiting. It sounds as your pet is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking Guinness to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

Hi there. I would have Kunsel seen by a vet. Vomiting and loose stool can be caused by a reaction to food, parasites or a virus, but when it's been going on for a few days she does need treatment. Your vet will be able to find out what's causing it and get her on meds to get her feeling better. I am very sorry how long it has taken an expert to get back to you. I also am very sorry to hear that Sassy is experiencing these problems, I am sure it is very unsettling for you both. There are a number of potential causes of such clinical signs, including dietary indiscretion, pancreatitis, parasite infestation, infection, and ingestion of a toxin or poison. Because you have only noticed these signs over the course of two days I would continue to monitor Sassy at home. Rest Sassy's gastrointestinal tract by holding back food for 6 hours. Then you can continue with a bland and easily digested food of the boiled chicken breast and provide plenty of fresh water. If Sassy does not improve, has profuse vomiting or diarrhoea, you notice fresh blood, Sassy seems lethargic, in pain or depressed I would advise a trip to the veterinarian. Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Miklo. Poor boy. He could have a severe stomach illness causing his vomiting and soft stool. Whenever a kitten has both vomiting and soft stool, they are considered too sick for a home remedy. The best thing to do for him is to take him into a vet immediately to get this diagnosed and treated. I hope this helps!

I'm sorry to hear that Louie isn't feeling well! Profuse vomiting and a loss of appetite in a young cat are most suspicious for either a foreign body intestinal obstruction, parasites or virus. Due to the likelihood of dehydration with this much vomiting and possible obstruction, I recommend taking Louie to his vet fairly urgently for evaluation. He will likely need abdominal x-rays and may need IV fluids or surgery if foreign material is suspected in his intestines. I hope that all goes well!
