Why is my kitten throwing up undigested food and having soft stool?

I recommend taking Stewie to the veterinarian to make sure he is ok. This may be a virus but it can also be intestinal parasites. I would bring a stool sample when taking him to the vet for check for parasites. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

Yes I suspect it's the kitten food causing Buddy to have an upset stomach and vomit. Sudden changes in diet can lead to these symptoms. Feed him a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones or skin) in small amounts a couple times a day for a few days, the start slowly adding in his normal diet. If he refuses to eat the bland diet, vomits the bland diet, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, continues to have diarrhea, has blood in his stool, and/or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet immediately. Hi there. I would have Kunsel seen by a vet. Vomiting and loose stool can be caused by a reaction to food, parasites or a virus, but when it's been going on for a few days she does need treatment. Your vet will be able to find out what's causing it and get her on meds to get her feeling better. If normal I would recommend an abdominal X-ray to rule out a foreign body. It may not be the food and there could be something serious. He should not be vomiting daily and I worry he could dehydrate. I am sorry Sock is not feeling well. This much vomiting is not normal. I would be concerned about a foreign body causing obstruction, infection or even possible coccidia. I would recommend taking Socks to the vet for additional testing like an x-ray of the abdomen and even possible blood work. the concern is dehydration and weight loss with the vomiting. Goldie could be vomiting and have watery stool due to many reasons including a sudden change in diet, an infection or parasites. You may try feeding her a bland diet if she will eat it. A bland diet can consist of 25% boiled white meat chicken and 75% boiled white rice. This should all be plain. If she will not eat it, continue feeding her the kitten food. Offer her both canned and dried. At her age, she does not need milk of any form. If she is still sick tomorrow, have her examined and treated by the veterinarian. Hello. Thank you for rescuing this kitten. I would be most concerned about this kitten having an infection & most certainly having a large number of parasites it its gut. Roundworms are especially common in kittens & can cause significant discomfort & diarrhea.
