Kitten threw up foam and fur. Is this normal or should I worry?

She may have just had a temporary upset stomach or a hairball. No worries. She will groom herself and get the vomit off. Just continue to monitor her for any decreased appetite, loose stool or lethargy. If she continues to vomit then it’s best to have her examined by your vet to make sure everything is ok. Yellow foamy vomit can sometimes indicate reflux or a very empty stomach. If it's only happened rarely, you can try offering food in smaller amounts more often to help keep Ravioli's tummy full and see if it helps. If he vomits more often, or seems lethargic or otherwise ill, or the vomiting continues intermittently even with a change in meal times, a vet visit is a good idea to rule out any more serious issues.

If it was an isolated incident and she's not acting sick otherwise, I would just monitor her closely. If she does continue vomiting or develops diarrhea, lethargy or poor appetite, I would be concerned and would take her to your family veterinarian for an examination.

If Smokey only vomited once and is otherwise fine now it's nothing to be overly concerned about. Cats vomit more regularly than other animals, often from hair in the stomach, eating too fast and if they have eaten something else undigestible such as a rodent or insect. Once they vomit up the problem then they are usually fine. When they are lethargic, not eating at all, and have vomiting and diarrhea then I bring them to your veterinarian for treatment. This can be normal! You can see some vomiting after getting vaccines and given that Faelan only vomited once, I would not be too worried. Plus he sounds like he is otherwise acting normally. I would keep an eye on him and if you see protracted vomiting, diarrhea, signs of an allergic reaction (facial swelling, difficulty breathing, then I would be worried and rush him into an ER vet immediately. Hairballs and vomiting in cats are quite common but the preceeding nausea can cause distress and vocalisation. I would not be immediately concerned when he has otherwise returned to normal. Many diets and supplements are available to reduce the incidence (but may not be 100% effective in full protection although they do help)

It sounds as California is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.
