When should my 6-week-old kitten stop milk and start drinking water?

Feed her wet (canned) kitten food 4 times a day. let her eat as much as she likes. She is still very young and normally should still be with mama and her siblings. Offer her kitten milk as well as water. She will get a lot of the moisture eating the wet food, however eventually she will start drinking water. Normally mama would teach her to drink water when it is time. Stick a finger in the bowl when she is in front of the bowl and wet her mouth. She should understand soon. Do not put the water next to her food. Cats do not like to drink next to the food. She will need lots of TLC, and you will need to play with her a lot (paper balls , string with a feather on it, etc)

HI, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! At 4 weeks old Almond should be very close to or completely weaned and eating kitten food. I would start feeding her canned kitten food and provide water in a dish. I personally do not think a cat or dog would drink from a sippy cup.I wouldn't stress over the sippy cup I would just get her off the bottle and provide fresh water in a dish. If the kitten is weaned and eating jitten food then you no longer have to worry about milk. You might have to soften dry food with water or with canned kitten food if needed also. If the kitten is not eating good meals then you will have to supplement with kitten milk until he is able to get good meals with dry or canned food

Hello, and thank you for your question. Misu is an adorable name! At almost 2 months of age, your kitten should not need kitten formula, especially if she is eating regular food. When they are kitten (up to 10-12 months in fact) I recommend free feeding. This should include a combination of wet food (twice a day) and dry food, left out. Kittens have very a very high metabloism and need to have food and fresh water readily available. I hope this helps! Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! The most common reason for sneezing and clear nasal discharge in kittens are viral infections. The kitten usually gets better in 7-14 days. If the sneezing gets worse or the nasal discharge becomes cloudy, yellow or green Mika may have developed a secondary bacterial infection. She would then need antibiotics. Canned cat food has a lot of water in it. You can add water to the canned food to increase water intake. If she is doing well she is likely getting all the water she needs. Especially if she is producing urine regularly. I hope this helps and I wish you and Mika the best!

It sounds like she's becoming less interested in bottle feeding, since she is taking solids, and is likely playing with the nipple now more than feeding from it. At this stage, kitten food will do her more good than meat or milk replacer. I recommend offering her both dry and canned kitten food (you may want to crush the dry food a bit if she needs help eating it), and you can also offer a bit of the milk replacer in a little saucer for her to lap up herself, to encourage self-feeding. Keep trying to do the bottle feedings until you're confident she's eating kitten food on her own, but don't stress too much if she seems to be losing interest as her "real food" consumption picks up. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Fendi can start eating puppy food. I recommend using canned food first then transitioning to dry puppy food. You may need to add water to the dry food to soften it up for her to eat. You can also add puppy milk to the food so she is familiar with the food.
