My kitten drank spoiled milk, pooped white then brown. Should I worry?

Your kitten should be okay and you do not need to try to flush his system. If he is not used to drinking milk, he may experience some soft bowel movements for a day or two, but that should resolve on its own if it does occur.

As long as she’s feeling fine and eating and drinking she should be fine. Please get her back on cat food and water only and this loose stool should resolve without treatment. When cats have bowel irritation they can pass small amounts of blood. If she’s not eating well, not drinking or the diarrhea lasts more than a day then please take her in for an exam and treatment. I would just monitor him for any signs of illness such as inappetence, vomiting, diarrhea and/or lethargy. If any of these are observed, have him evaluated by a veterinarian. Hello, & thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I would stop the egg white & just stay with the KMR. In another week, start introducing some canned kitten food mixed with the KMR to wean the kitten from the milk. I would also deworm the kitten now with pyrantal pamoate using 1 ml per 10 pounds of body weight ( Kitti will probably only need 0.1-0.3 mls ). Have a sample of the kittens stool examined by your veterinarian to check for other parasites, like coccidia. Hope she is doing well soon. Take care.

Keep an eye on her for now, and if she is still lethargic in the morning, have her seen by a vet. If she starts vomiting, has diarrhea, or refuses to eat, have her seen by a vet immediately. Best of luck.

Diarrhea can be observed with conditions such as colitis, gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, intestinal parasites, among many other possibilities. They probably got it from the mother. I recommend that you have them evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. As long as she continues to eat well, this should slowly resolve over the course of the next 3-4 days. If it does not, or if Naughtt develops any other unusual clinical signs, I recommend having her seen by a veterinarian, as an unrelated issue may be present. I hope this is helpful!
