My 7-month-old kitten is meowing quietly and humming. Is she okay?

If he is otherwise doing well, he is likely fine and this is not anything important. This can be from over use or from the start of respiratory infection that causing a sore throat. If she is eating and drinking well with no sneezing, coughing or runny eyes, then you can monitor her to see if it comes backs. If further respiratory signs develop or her appetite changes, then she needs to be seen by a vet

Hello. It is possible that Kiara is bothered by some kind of skin parasite, such as cat fleas or mites. You may need to apply an appropriate flea topical to help her. She may also be in heat. She is old enough to come into heat & they can act & vocalize in strange ways. If the behavior continues, please have her seen by your veterinarian. She may simply need to be spayed. No reason to think otherwise at this point in time if Sgt. Katherine Pepper (LOVE her name!) is acting normally. If other symptoms do appear like ones you mentioned above or her meow does not come back in 48 hours, then have her seen by a vet. I hope this helps!

If your cat is otherwise acting normal and eating fine I wouldn’t worry too much about this. Keep an eye on your cat and watch for drooling any swelling or soreness in the mouth or any reluctance to eat. If you notice any of the signs then you may want to have her checked out. It is difficult to determine if Khloe's vocalizing is behavior or medically related. Sometimes cat will vocalize like this as a form of communication and behavior. Other times it can mean they are trying to tell you that they are sick or in pain. I would recommend that you look at her closely for the next several hours. Does she seem in pain, does she have normal energy, is she interacting with you? If all of these are yes - that is great and of less concern. Does she have any vomiting or diarrhea, is her appetite OK and is she drinking normal amounts of water. If the answers to this are that she is having a normal appetite and water consumption without any vomiting or diarrhea this is also a very good sign. If that is the case, i would recommend to monitor her at home and continue to watch all of these things very closely. Midnight is absolutely beautiful! It could be that she is suffering from laryngitis, which is an inflammation of the mucous membranes of the larynx. Signs of laryngitis include hoarseness and/or loss of voice. It could also be that she's just a quiet cat who doesn't meow. I'd have her checked out by a vet this week just to be sure everything is ok. I hope this helps, and enjoy your new kitten!
