Why is my 3-year-old cat making quick meows with head movements?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Kopol. That is odd behavior for a cat to display. Is he tasting something bad during these episodes? A new food for example? If not, does he pant or breathe with his mouth open? This can be a sign of respiratory distress in a cat. I recommend that he sees his veterinarian for an examination. He could possibly be painful. Based on these results, blood work may be recommended as well. A thyroid disorder can cause a cat to meow more frequently. I hope this information helps!

I am concerned that Tommy may have some discomfort and that something could be bothering him perhaps in his head or neck area. I would recommend that you consider having him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. If your cat is otherwise happy, healthy, and eating, drinking, and acting normally, I would not be too concerned. If he is otherwise doing well, he is likely fine and this is not anything important. However, if he develops any other symptoms such as lethargy, inappetence, vomiting or diarrhea, have him evaluated by a veterinarian. Best of luck!

IT is possible Norman is trying to communicate with you he is not feeling well. I would recommend continue to monitor his behavior. If he is eating,drinking and using his litter box well I would just keep a close eye on him. However if he stops eating, has vomiting/diarrhea or continues to vocalized I would take him to a vet for an exam. Sometimes a vet can find an issue on a exam that we cannot detect at home.

Sometimes a viral upper respiratory infection can affect the back of the throat and cause swelling that could affect your cat’s ability to meow. Difficulty swallowing can also occur when something is lodged in the esophagus or if there is a problem with a tooth. I’m glad Lily ate some chicken, but if her normal appetite does not return soon I’d recommend seeing your vet for an examination.
