Why are my rescued kittens' matted, unopened eyes oozing green?

  Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. The left eye looks watery and she is squinting too. I suspect this is due to infectious conjunctivitis or ocular trauma.
  If the eye drops are helping then please, continue applying them for 6-7 days.
  However, if the eye continues to discharge green /watery mucus you will need to take Stripe to your local vets to get antibiotics eye drops.

  Eye infections are very common in young kittens, it needs to be treated with an antibiotic eye ointment, you will need to take her to the vet in order to get this ointment as it is prescription only.

  Allergies can cause itchy and runny eyes (usually with clear discharge) but other issues such as and injury to the eye, or the beginning of an upper respiratory infection can also cause eye discharge that may turn green or yellow or have other symptoms such as fever, loss of appetite, etc. It is always a good idea to rule out more serious issues with your vet first in case it requires treatment such as antibiotics.
  
  At home, you can gently wipe the eyes with a clean washcloth to keep them clear and open, or use an over the counter allergy medication, but if the problem persists, the discharge is discolored, or you are seeing other signs of illness, vet care is needed.
