My 2-month-old kittens' eyes are closed. Should I take them to vet?

A garden cat gave birth 2 months ago, the newly born kitties have their eyes closed, such as the attached. Please help

This is probably an upper respiratory infection. it's very common in young cats and is very contagious to other cats as well.
It is treated with antibiotic eye drops/ointment and oral antibiotics for about 2 weeks. if left untreated many cats will end up blind or even die from the disease.
I advise going to your vet asap to start the treatment right away.

Although not normal as such it is not uncommon. Bathing the eyes with clean, cooled water or sterile saline eye was and cotton wool (throw each piece away and do not reuse to prevent spreading of infection) can help. There is likely to be an infection present also and I would get her checked by your vet as prescription antibiotics may also be required. Permanent scarring may develop but most kittens will have functional eye sight once recovered.

Great question, Jordan! It really sounds like your doing a great job so keep up the good work. It may be that the kittens have contracted a viral or bacterial infection. You'll want to continue to keep the eyes clean using a clean warm cloth for each kitten. This way you can prevent any cross contamination. Your local Veterinarian should be able to prescribe medication to help clear the infection or prevent further complication.

My newborn kittens have eye infections. What should I do to help?

Poor kittens! Eye infections can be viral or bacterial. Unfortunately you’re not likely to clear an eye infection with at home care. Just like with humans, these guys require antibiotic eyedrops which you will need to get from the veterinarian. I recommend to call your clinic and make an appointment ideally today. Eye infections in young kittens can become serious and cause permanent damage to the corneas. Bring the whole litter and the mother. Certainly cleaning off the teats and the rest of the environment will help but all the kittens have been exposed at this point. Stray kitten has gooey eye discharge and eyes are shut. What do I do?

Your kitty likely is suffering from an upper respiratory infection and should be seen by a vet for an exam and deworming. It will likely need prescription antibiotics. In the meantime (until you can take her to a vet) you can tak a cloth with warm water an soak the eyes. This should help with opening them. You can then gently wipe off the purulent discharge.
