Why is my 5-month-old kitten grinding teeth? Is it teething or pain?

The latter being rather uncommon in young cats. As long as Frank is bright, has good appetite and does not show any mouth discomfort or halitosis, I would suggest to monitor him at home for the next 1-2 months. If the symptoms do not get any better you should take him to your local vets then.

Good for you for brushing Love Bug's teeth. It can be a big job, but it is really important and will help prevent problems in the future. My cats don't like it either. I know exactly what you're talking about with the grinding of the teeth when they chew on the toothbrush. My cats do the same thing. I haven't noticed any problems with my cats' teeth, so I suspect it is just their normal chewing/grinding (trying to chew up what is in their mouth) that we are hearing. I hope that was helpful! Hello. Pets don’t normally paw at their face due to routine teething unless there is some significant discomfort with it and that would be abnormal. It would be best to try to determine if she has something else going on or some source of pain. You can try to look yourself but it can be difficult to do . It is important to look closely at the roof of the mouth and you may require some help or a veterinarian to examine her.

She is at the age where she will loose all these teeth very soon, probably in the next couple months, so it might be because of that. if the color remains there on the new set of teeth after the age of 6 months then i would suspect it is something she is chewing, but for now just monitor it.

Yes he could be teething. This behavior is common in young kittens. Please keep him in a safe place where he can’t chew on electric cords. He should be less bitey as he grows up. I'm sorry to hear Platinum is having these issues! Baby teeth are usually lost between 4-6 months of age so she may have just lost her baby teeth. However, some of the other things you're describing are concerning to me, especially in a kitten. These things could be a sign of many things including infection, gastrointestinal disease, or pain.
