Great question! You have two options with feeding Uli. There will be a daily allotment of food to be fed on her food bag, and you can either leave the food out all day for her to eat whenever she wants, or you can divide it up into two equal portions. Give one of the portions in the morning and one at night. At her age, she should still be on a kitten formulated food. Once she is 12 months of age, you can switch her to an adult food. It really depends on how much she weighs. There should be a feeding guideline on the bag of cat food based on the weight of your kitten. Follow that guideline and then adjust based on her growth and weight. Split the total amount into three feedings per day.

The amount to feed depends on the particular food you are using. If you take a picture of the feeding guidelines on the package we can help with an exact amount to feed. Every cat will weigh different when they are adult size, but normal is usually between 8-12 pounds. Measuring food and limiting treats and making sure they stay active are the best ways of preventing obesity.

The amount that you should feed Kuzco will vary widely depending upon the type of kitten food that you choose. Every food has a different calorie density to kibble or canned food. As she grows, the best thing you can do is to read the bag for her age and body weight, and follow the chart on the food. If you are feeding a canned diet (or a mix of canned and dry foods), reputable food companies have feeding guides on their websites for a kitten's age and body weight. Kuzco should eat a food formulated for kittens for the first year of life and then be transitioned over to an adult cat food, but anytime you make a change in diet, be sure to do so by gradually mixing the foods over 5-7 days. Kittens until they are the age of 12 months should be fed a kitten food to support their growth needs. Each bag of food has a different daily allotment, so feed her according the instructions on her bag of food. This is a great question! I see that Oliver is a kitten so it's not recommended to limit food since he is still growing, but it's fine to put him on a feeding schedule.
