My cat has yellowish poop. Is yellow cat stool normal or concerning?

In many cats, a light brown or yellowish color can be normal to the stool. If it becomes more of a pale yellow/white yellow, or becomes loose or has mucus or blood in the stool, these would be reasons for concern and a visit to the vet should take place.

I would not say this is a normal consistency of stool to see. I would expect healthy stool to be well formed and a light brown color. However, the color of the stool can vary depending on the diet. The loose stools could also be from intestinal parasites. I would recommend having Hades' stool tested for parasites and if it comes back negative, start a new diet altogether. I would also consider a probiotic such Purina Fortiflora, which can be found online quite easily. I hope this helps! This is fairly normal stool for a neonatal kitten, although it does look a bit watery. The stool should start to become more firm and brown as the kitten gets older. If it seems very watery or you are seeing blood or mucous there would be some concern. It might be a good idea to have this very young kitten examined by a vet regardless to make sure it seems to be healthy and to discuss proper bottle feeding and other care.

The first and most common reason for it could dietary related. Other differentials may be parasite infestation and infective or inflammatory gastrointestinal disease. I would strongly recommend to start changing the diet (switch gradually over one week time), giving a bland one based on boiled chicken or white fish and rice/potatoes for a couple of weeks. If by then you will not notice any improvement,a check up and more investigations and/or treatment (antibiotic trial and parasite treatment) would be ideal. Since Pickle's stools changed so abruptly I would be concerned. Ideally I would recommend you take him into the vet to be checked out or at least bringing in a fecal sample to be examined by the vet. Pickle may need some antibiotics to help clear up the diarrhea and/or a probiotic. Good luck.

It is possible Meshmesh could have intestinal worms causing his soft and yellow stool. Make sure he is up to date on his deworming treatments, giving him one if he isn't. He needs to be dewormed monthly until he is six months old, and then he should dewormed every three months thereafter.

Pale coloured stool is very concerning (especially if her diet has not changed) as it indicates that the normal process of digestion and excretion is not being completed. Much of the normal stool colour comes from waste products of digestion including bile pigments and pale faeces can be a result of blockage of bile and/or reduced liver function. I would recommend a vet check and possible blood tests or ultrasound as soon as possible
