Is light brown or yellowish poop normal for my 6-week-old kitten?

This is fairly normal stool for a neonatal kitten, although it does look a bit watery. The stool should start to become more firm and brown as the kitten gets older. If it seems very watery or you are seeing blood or mucous there would be some concern. It might be a good idea to have this very young kitten examined by a vet regardless to make sure it seems to be healthy and to discuss proper bottle feeding and other care.

They are all so cute! If the stool is firm and otherwise normal, the color could be a natural variation, but it can also indicate a bacterial infection. If the stool is loose (like diarrhea), then I would suspect there could be a bacterial infection. To be safe, I would take Angel and kittens into the vet now for a check up. It is possible Meshmesh could have intestinal worms causing his soft and yellow stool. Make sure he is up to date on his deworming treatments, giving him one if he isn't. He needs to be dewormed monthly until he is six months old, and then he should dewormed every three months thereafter.

It is possible diva has parasites or the mother milk is giving it that look. I would start off by checking the feces for parasites including coccidia . This parasite can be treated with medications from your vet.

I would not be overly concerned at this time. I wouldn't continue to monitor him. You can also have his feces tested to ensure he does not have any parasites.

Poor Venus! The most common cause of loose yellow or orange-colored stool in a kitten this age would be intestinal parasites. I would recommend first having her examined by a vet - he/she can take a fecal sample and check it under a microscope for parasites such as hookworms, roundworms, or coccidia. If any problems are found, they can also prescribe appropriate medication to treat the issue. In the meantime, you can try feeding her a bland diet of plain boiled chicken or chicken-flavored baby food to help settle her stomach until you are able to get her in to see the vet.
